About Us
How did it start? When Lisa found herself no longer employed due to a downsizing/outsourcing of her job of 27+ years, she decided to take the opportunity and explore starting a business. With her daughter’s deep knowledge of sewing and crafting, they joined forces to open a fabric store. We started in Altoona was the perfect location as the area was growing and lacking a fabric and craft store. Planning was started and a location secured, Fabrics & Fun opened their doors on 7/1/2019. In September of 2022 we closed our Altoona location. In October of 2022 we reopend in Windsor Heights.
Hello, I’m Lisa Grell. I left the corporate world for the fun creative world of sewing and crafts. I’m using my 36 years of experience from various positions worked in Customer Service and Information Technology to spin up Fabrics & Fun. I’m excited to be working with my daughter and expanding my experiences. I look forward to providing the best customer experiences.
I am Lisa’s daughter Tammy Wilkerson. I got into sewing due to my love of cosplay. For the last 8 years I have worked in fabric retail and I am excited to open a shop so I can help others realize their fabric dreams.
